Wyman Michael Megginson was born May 4, 1963, in Charleston (Rand) WV. He passed away at home March 30, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was the only son of the late Wyman & Edna Vernell Megginson.
Michael was employed with Penske Logistics as a forklift driver. During his years at Penske, he formed lasting friendships and was loved by all.
Michael loved his sports. As for football, he was a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan and you could see it through all the Dallas apparel he sported. From the jersey’s, jackets, toboggans, T shirts and his latest edition, tennis shoes. He also sported the same type of gear for his favorite basketball team, The L.A. Lakers. His love for these sports assisted him in coaching his sons early sport teams.
Michael was definitely a man of fashion as you could see from the flash in his taste of clothing. Everything matching and on point. West Virginia, Rand & Camouflage gear was at the top of his list, along with a shoe collection that would rival the best of them. His dance moves definitely match his energy.
Michael was a man of few words, but was never short on trying to make you laugh with his jokes and his unique way of telling stories.
He was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart Carmen Coleman on August 22, 1987. She survives. He is preceded in death by his eldest sister Deborah Megginson; survived by his sister Sharon Shand and her two children Joshua Megginson & Verchelle Shand all of (Charleston “Rand” WV).
Michael was a loving father to his two sons Michael Isaiah Megginson & Davon Wyman Megginson. He was a loving pop pops to his heart and only grandchild Dejah Von Marie Megginson. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was a member of Harvest Church of the Living God, which elevated into the current ministry “Embracing your Heritage”.
Michael loved spending time with his family in Rand & Ohio, especially family dinner, listening to music, and playing with Dejah. He loved the taste of spaghetti with parmesan cheese, meatloaf, salmon patties & his favorite dessert apple pie. Following in his father’s footsteps, he was also known by his nick name PIE.
