Vonda Louise Welch

Vonda Louise Welch, was called home early Tuesday morning, September 25th.  She was in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by her family and her beloved Chihuahua, Sandy.  Vonda lived in such a way filled with love and humor, she had never met someone who left a stranger. She was considered a mom and grandma to many more than just her own, known for her one-sided winks and twinkling eyes. She was a devote Christian, a member of State Street Community Church, and followed closely with TV-39 OACB. Vonda was employed at Med Center Hospital, and upon retirement she went on to help raise her two granddaughters.

Vonda was born in Pikeville, KY on April 16th, 1944 to the late Herbert and Alice (Gilliam) Burgess, she was proceeded in death by her parents and brother James Burgess. She will be celebrated and remembered in this life by her daughter, Shannon Vera of Marion, granddaughters Monica Arce of Columbus, and Marbella Arce of Radnor, sister Barb (David) Johnson of Anderson, SC, brothers, Paul (Tami) Burgess of Green Camp, Roy (Evelyn) Burgess of Ravenna, Mike Burgess of Marion, and John (Molly) Burgess of Nevada, OH.  Vonda will be cherished by her aunt, uncles, many nieces, nephews, and cousins for years to come.

A memorial service has been planned to celebrate her life on October 6th, 2018 at State Street Community Church, 821 N. State St. Marion, OH. Family and friends may come together at 2pm with memorial service to begin at 3pm. Following the memorial, honoring Vonda’s biggest request will be a pot luck style dinner in the basement of the church
