Shawn Patrick Akers

Shawn Patrick Akers, age 51, passed away on June 25, 2022, at Marion General Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was born June 9, 1971, in Marion, Ohio to David Akers SR. and  Anna Louise Akers (Hamby).  He graduated from Harding High School class of 1989.

Shawn worked at Honda of America Manufacturing for 23 years.  He loved the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns.  He loved spending time playing his guitars with his friends and family.

He is survived by one brother David (Vivian) Akers JR; two nephews Jacob Akers and Kory Akers both of Marion, Ohio; one niece Karci Akers of Marion, Ohio; and several relatives and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his dad David Akers SR and his mother Anna Louise Akers.

Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022, at Edward Funeral Service. Memorial Gathering will be from 2 pm. to 4 pm.  The service to follow at 4 pm.  He will be laid to rest at Grand Prairie Cemetery at a later date.
