Roger D. Landon, age 63, of Galion passed courageously and peacefully into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior on January 16, 2015 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Marion on August 14, 1951 to the late Hershel and Mary Jane (Brown) Landon. Roger was also preceded in death by his sister; Kay (Landon) Lucas, a step-son; Todd Everly and father-in-laws; Dick Oborn and Walter Morehart. After graduating from Cardington High School, he attended Mansfield State College and graduated with a degree in Computer Science. Roger was employed by Galion Dresser and retired when the business closed completing 25 years of faithful service. He then was a salesman for ABC Appliance warehouse for 8 years retiring in 2013. Roger had also owned and operated Roger's Sports Shop in Galion for 10 years. He was an avid sports fan, favoring football the most. Roger and his wife also enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, LasVegas and Louisiana and were occasionally accompanied by his son and daughter-in-law. Along with playing cards with his many friends, he also collected, sold and traded sports cards. During his son's early years, Roger coached tee ball, Little Sox, Junior Little League and Little League baseball teams. Survivors include his wife; Lana (Oborn) Landon to which he had been happily married for 10 years, his son; Travis (Elizabeth Holt) Landon of Lexington, 2 brothers; Tracy (Margie) Landon of Cardington and Jeff (Krista) Landon of Galion, 4 step-children; Gwen (Everly) Earhart of Columbus, Troy (Cassandra Tanner) Everly of Johnstown, Scott (Susan) Antkowiak of Minnesota and Blaine Smith of California, 2 grandchildren; Jentsen and Deklyn Landon of Lexington, 8 step-grandchildren; Kyle (Kassandra) Stoffer of North Carolina, Natalie Stoffer of Columbus, Sarah Hines, Lucas Earhart and Gage and Grace Everly, all of Galion, Grant Everly and Lahna Nelson, both of Johnstown and Brax and Braum Antkowiak of Minnesota, 2 step-great-grandchildren; Liam & Izabelle Stoffer of North Carolina, his mother-in-law; Mary Lou Morehart and several nieces and nephews. There will be a celebration of Roger's life for close family and friends held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 2PM - 4PM at his home. In lieu of flowers his family would prefer memorial donations be made to HomeCare Matters Home Health and Hospice in Galion.
