Robert James Bordeaux, age 79, of Marion, Ohio passed away on April 8, 2025.
He was born on November 27, 1945 to Claude and Dorothy Bordeaux in Sewickley, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Ambridge High School in 1963. Bob joined the United States Navy in 1966 and served his country with honor and pride until 1969. His commitment and discipline extended beyond his military service, as he later took on the role of a machine operator—a profession he excelled in through diligent work and unwavering precision. He worked at Marion Power Shovel from 1977 to 1984, and then went on to HPM and worked there until the factory shut down.
Bob and Kathy were married on May 3, 1969, and together shared nearly 56 years of very happy marriage.
Known for his love of the outdoors, Bob could often be found working outside and tinkering with various projects. He and Kathy were always trying new recipes and making sure there were always homecooked meals to share together. He was a man who was constantly thinking; his mind never stopped, especially when he was planning repairs. Bob also had a great sense of humor and always kept his family laughing.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents Claude and Dorothy Bordeaux, and siblings Kathy Bordeaux and Alan Bordeaux.
He is survived by his devoted wife Kathy; children Rebecca Holt (Joshua Jameson), and Susan (John) DeVore; grandchildren Leah DeVore (John McIntyre), Hannah (Mason) Griffith, and Joshua DeVore (Kaylyn Cantley); great grandchildren Noah Griffith and Abigail Griffith; his brother Ronald (Joyce) Bordeaux and sister Sharon Bordeaux; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends.
His passing leaves a void in the lives of his surviving family and friends, but his warm laughter and the joy he spread will live on in their hearts. Bob's legacy is one of warmth, kindness, humor, and indomitable spirit.
A private gathering will be held at a later date to celebrate his life.
