Rick Creek, 76, of Marion, Ohio, passed away surrounded by family on January 25, 2025.
He was born on March 8, 1948, to Doss and Marian Creek in Panama, Oklahoma. He graduated from Panama High School in 1966. Rick joined the United States Army and bravely served his country in the Vietnam War. He worked on the front line as a minesweeper and helped to make roads for military travel.
Rick married Sharon Allen on June 23, 1976 and shared nearly fifty years of loving partnership. They loved going for walks, taking trips, and spending time outdoors. Rick and Sharon shared a faith in God that strengthened their bond, and they loved going to Cavalry Baptist Church together.
He worked all sorts of odd jobs that never failed to keep his life interesting. Rick was a sort of jack of all trades, with a wide array of skills that kept him occupied. He had a good work ethic, and he kept himself busy doing things like taking care of the landscaping at the church. One of his favorite activities was spending time with his family grilling out in the backyard.
Rick is preceded in death by his parents Doss and Marian Creek; brother Johnny Creek; and sister Pam Parker.
He is survived by his loving wife Sharon Creek; children Lonnie Creek, Melinda Creek, and Jerome Creek; sisters Marilyn Downs, Sheila Lind, and Retha Green; seven grandchildren; three great-grandsons; an aunt; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
