Richard E. Stineman, 90, of Marion, OH passed away on May 2, 2024.
He was born on May 4, 1933, to Kenneth and Naomi Stineman in Marion, OH.
Stationed in Colorado Springs, CO, while in the Army, Richard met Oletha Capps. They were married in June 1955.
A graduate of Marion Harding High School. Richard played the trombone in the marching band. After high school and serving in the Army during the Korean War, he went on to work for the United States Post Office. He retired after 30+ years. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting pheasant with his father. When Richard’s children were younger, he liked taking the family camping. He liked watching Ohio State football and basketball, and never missed the Kentucky Derby. One of Richards biggest passions in life was fishing. After retirement, he spent his time fishing, going to yard sales, and drinking coffee at Wendy’s. Richard was also a Deacon at the Kirkpatrick Church of Christ.
Richard is preceded in death by his Wife: Oletha Stineman; Parents: Kenneth and Naomi Stineman; Son: Michael Stineman; Sister: Linda Mumford; Son-In-Law: Michael Wakely.
He is survived by his daughters: Lori K. Stineman; Susan E. Wakely; Grandsons: Matthew (Tasha) Wakely, and Scott (Amanda) Wakely; Granddaughter: Jennifer (Thomas) Matteson; Great Grandchildren: Ethan (Rebekah) Matteson, Jordyn Matteson, Brock Wakely, and Jack Wakely.
