Preston Matthew Borders

Preston Matthew Borders, 21, of Marion passed away on Tuesday June 1, 2021. Preston was born on September 16, 1999 in Marion to Matthew Borders and Chasidy Daily. Preston was a 2016 graduate of Marion City Schools.

Preston had most recently been working at Wyandot Snacks as a tow motor driver - a job which he enjoyed thoroughly.

Preston loved anytime he could spend fishing, hunting, range shooting, playing basketball and riding ATVs/dirt bikes; especially enjoying operating equipment. Preston will always be remembered for his shy demeanor and incredible sense of humor, his loving kind heart, and his charm.

Preston is survived by his parents Matthew and Sheri(Carr) Borders of Marion and Chasidy Daily of Girard; his sisters Kendahl Borders of Hillard, Sydney Carr of Marion, and Madison Kauffman of Tiffin. He also leaves his maternal grandparents, Jeff and Julie (Daily) Pennington of Davenport, FL; and his paternal grandparents, William (Bill) and Keshia McCoy of Marion; Maternal great grandparents, Barbara Lyon of Winter Garden, FL and Richard Lyon of Marion; Paternal great grandparents Earl and Irene Borders of Marion and great grandmother Sally McCoy of Marion. He is also survived by his maternal aunt, Chelsey Daily and great nieces Trinity (who he adored) and Kaylee Medley of Marion; and his paternal aunt Kelly McCoy and Jerry Bradley of Marion. Also survived by a special little buddy “B”, and many more aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends that loved him dearly.

Preston was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Mike Daily, and his maternal great-grandfather, Fred Vest and maternal great-grandparents Frank and Mary Daily.

Visitation will be Sunday June 6th, 2021 from 2-3pm at Edwards Funeral Service, 318 Mt. Vernon Ave Marion with the funeral service following at 3pm. Friends and family may gather following the funeral at Marion First Free Will Baptist Church, 1449 Crissinger Rd, Marion. Donations in Preston's honor, as fishing was his favorite way to spend time, can be made to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, 2045 Morse Road, Columbus, Ohio 43229, in lieu of flowers, if so desired.
