Paul Steven “Steve” Aldridge I, age 68, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, in Upper Sandusky, Ohio after an extended illness. Steve was born on August 26, 1956, in Marion, Ohio to Wilda (Saunders) and Mark Aldridge. He received his GED in 1983.
He met the love of his life Debbie Mason while working for her dad at J & J Junkyard in 1978 in Marion, and they were married on April 7, 1979. In 1986, they welcomed their daughter, Andrea into the world, and in 1991, they welcomed their son Paul Steven II “Little Stevie” into the world. Deb and Steve were married for 45 years before Steve’s unexpected passing.
Steve held many jobs throughout his lifetime, such as Universal/Napa Auto Parts, until he was hired at Whirlpool Corporation in 1993 until he retired in 2017 after 24 years of employment there.
Steve was an avid hunter, fisherman, enjoyed camping and enjoyed spending time hanging out drinking and “smoking dope” with his buddies throughout the years. He would always tell stories to anyone who was around about his younger years and all the things he would do with his buddies.
His favorite title was being a papa to Ariya Coykendall and J.W. (Jesse Wayne) Aldridge (due in February 2025). He loved his grandchildren with all of him and was excited to spend any time he could talking to or seeing them.
Steve is survived by his wife Debbie, daughter Andrea (Jimmy Prater) Coykendall, son Paul (Meagan Lyons), grandchildren Ariya and J.W., sister Ronda (Brian) Schaadt, nieces, nephews, and many “adopted” children that Andrea and Paul brought into his life throughout the years.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Nena DaVonne Aldridge, Brenda Marks, Kathy Martin and Connie Byrd, brothers in law Rex Marks and John Byrd, son in law Jesse Coykendall, other daughter Katelynn Blevins, “adopted” daughter Katie Hartman, niece Beth Ann Simspon, in laws Becky & Jim Mason, and best friend Dave Boggs.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Vancrest Nursing Home in Upper Sandusky for taking care of Steve for the last few months and putting up with his antics. The family is very grateful for all that they did during his last few months.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Edwards Funeral Home to go towards the cost of the funeral, or to his grandchildren for their futures.
