Nancy Schiefer

Nancy Schiefer, 74, of Iberia, Ohio passed away peacefully on September 13, 2024 surrounded by family.

She was born on November 30, 1949 to Riley and Luella LaRue in Galion. 

Nancy married Ron Schiefer on August 24, 1994 in Greenup, Kentucky. They enjoyed going to auctions, and they did everything together.

She was a dedicated homemaker who lovingly looked after many children. She loved all sorts of animals. She was a collector of many things and enjoyed hunting for bargains at the thrift stores and garage sales. Nancy’s house was the gathering place for the community, where she hosted many friends and family members over the years. They shared a lot of laughter there, and a lot of good coffee, too.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Riley and Luella LaRue; two brothers, Steve and Mark; a stepson, Justin; and her mother-in-law, Mary Jane.

She is survived by her husband Ron; children Renna (Jeff) Burns, Ronalee (Steve) Clever, Robert Gekler and Susie, Rebecca (Vickie) Gollihue, Tidus (Amanda) Kissling, and Derrick Schiefer; grandchildren Jessica, Nicholas, Heather, Daniel, Whitney, Kyle, Brooklyn, and Kaitlyn; 15 great-grandchildren; siblings Marilyn and Darin (Tayna); sister-in-law Rhonda; many cousins, nieces and nephews, and many friends.

A celebration of life service will be held in her memory at Heritage Baptist Church, 1381 State Route 61, Galion, OH 44833 on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 1:30pm, with a dinner following.
