Mineffe Moore

Mineffe "Duke" Moore, 84, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2022. He was born May 25, 1937, in Knott County, Kentucky to the late Troy and Annie (Slone) Moore. On August 5, 1961, in Wise, West Virginia, he married Janice (Lucas) Moore. They celebrated 60 beautiful years together. Duke is survived by his children Delmar (Kim) Moore, Brenda Moore and Verine (Maurice) Williams all of Marion, Ohio. He also has 8 Grandchildren and 14 Great-Grandchildren with a baby due in March. He has a host of Nephews and Nieces, along with an extended family of cousins and friends.

He retired from the American Mallable in 1983. He then started his hunting and fishing adventures! Whether he was fishing with Beverage or hunting with his sons and grandsons, he was the happiest outdoors. He would never turn down a chance to go to a turkey shoot or a trip to Kentucky to hunt squirrel with his brother. When hunting season was over, you could always find him with his grandchildren at Lincoln Park,  watching their softball games. He was not only was there for his grandkids but for the all of the neighborhood kids. Duke was "Grandpa" to all of them. Fixing their bikes, then later helping with their cars. He loved each and every one of them. Duke is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Everett, Beverage, Orville, Marvin, Martin, Kathleen, Von and Vernie. His son Troy Moore, a Granddaughter Jenny Williams and Great-Granddaughters Abby and Kynleigh.

Duke will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Viewing will take place Tuesday, February 1, 2022 from 4-7 at Edwards Funeral Service, 318 Mt Vernon Ave Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at 2pm. Burial will follow at Chapel Heights Memorial Gardens Grover Caudill, Barkley Slone and Kevin McCoy will conduct the service.
