Michael Grant Young

Michael Grant Young, age 75, of Marion, Ohio passed away on October 26, 2023, at Embassy Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on July 16, 1948, in Tiffin, Ohio to the late Robert Eugene and Helen (Poorman) Young. He attended Marion Harding High School until 1965 at which time he enlisted in the United States Army.

He loved his oldies music and was known by his friends at Embassy as the “Music Man.” He loved being outdoors and going for walks with his sister Brenda. A stranger wasn’t a stranger for long, he loved meeting new people. Besides his love of music, he enjoyed watching wrestling, old westerns, and his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Michelle, brother Norman Young, sister Bobbie Jo Fox, brother-in-laws Jim Farrell and Sonny Smith, and granddaughters Cassie Shrader and Randi Young, and grandson Michael J. Young II.

He is survived by brothers Robert (Lori) Young, Jr., Jeffrey (Kathy) Young, and Scott (Jocelyn) Young, all of Marion. Sisters Linda Smith and Brenda (Kevin) Rodgers both of Marion, and Helen Farrell of Findlay. He is also survived by his children Mike (Julie) Young, Jr., Kelly (Neavy) Young, Rachel Young, Billie Jo Hawkins, and Dawn Shrader and 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
