Michael J. Steiner, age 56, of Marion passed away Saturday Oct. 17th at 3:05am at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was a life long resident of Marion born on July 16, 1959 to Michael R. Steiner of La Rue and Mary F. (McGhee) Byrd of Caledonia.
After receiving his GED, Michael worked mainly in maintenance at BF Goodrich, CRC Anheuser-Busch, Parker-Hannifin, and Marion Industries. He loved to fix anything that was broken as an all around handyman. Mike loved to attend family cookouts as the BBQ chef, spend time with family and friends, and enjoyed taking his grandchildren fishing during the Summer.
Michael was previously married to Donna M. (Balis-Steiner) Kochheiser of Marion on August 28th, 1978. He shared three loving daughters with her; all of whom still reside in Marion: Amber N. Steiner, Susan L. Rosebrough (Jesse O'Connor), Lindsay M. (Tim) Harrison. All together Mike had eleven grandchildren: Holden Rosebrough, Kristen Frye, Rylee Harrison, Hayden Rosebrough, Jayden Harrison, Denim Morrow, Hunter Rosebrough, Quinten Harrison, KadieSue Harrison, Kyralynn Steiner, and Troy Steiner-Smith. He was excitedly expecting his first great grandchild Ella Rosebrough in December 2015.
Michael married Pamela J. Beckel of Marion on March 19th, 1993 and together they shared his step-daughter Amber M. Thompson of Marion. He is also leaving behind his long time girlfriend Deena Jo Wiland.
Surviving Michael is his mother Mary F. (McGhee) Byrd of Caledonia, step-mother Barbara A. (Abrams) Steiner of LaRue, two loving sisters: Tami (Mike) Reilly of Galloway, Tina (Cliff) Hamilton of Hilliard, two half-brothers: Jason (Christina) Byrd of Whitehall,MI, Jeremy Byrd of Caledonia. Three step-brothers: David
(Tammy) Wilson, Michael (Jennifer) Wilson, and Rick (Amy) Byrd all of Marion. One step-sister Jamie (Byrd) Best of Bucyrus. Mike will also be sadly missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Michael R. Steiner of LaRue and sister Tonya Ray Steiner of Marion.
Michael will be buried in a private ceremony but all family and friends are encouraged to attend a Celebration of Life potluck dinner on Sunday November 8th at 2p.m. at New Vision Fire and Rescue located at 6342 Marion-Agosta Road near New Bloomington, Ohio.
