Mary Alice Bowens

Mary Alice Bowens, age 64, passed away on Tuesday January 14, 2020 at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on March 20, 1955 in Mount Gilead, OH to the late Harry D. and Virginia (Murphy) Augenstein.

Mary was a graduate of Mt. Gilead High School. In her free time she enjoyed fishing - "hauling in one after another," camping, drinking and boating. She especially was known for her love for her family, who will miss her tremendously.

She is survived by: life partner Tom Terry; children Richard "Rick" Bowens, Karen (James) Schirtzinger; brother Bruce Augenstein; sisters Karen Linder, Victoria "Vickie" Davidson; step-daughters Jennifer (David) Loudermilk, Sharmin Nevers; grandchildren Hailey Bowens, Alexa Bowens, Ayden Bowens, Trenton Bowens, Aaric Bowens, Jaxson Bowens, Emileigh Bowens, Braeden Butcher, Brooklyn Schirtzinger, and Braddox Schirtzinger; and step-grandchildren Dominic and Jonathan Loudermilk, Morgan and Troy Nevers.

Preceded in death by her parents Harry and Virginia Augenstein; brothers Harry Augenstein Jr., Elwood "Woody" Augenstein, Grover Augenstein, Brian Augenstein; sisters JoAnn Clark, Martha Wright, Virginia "Jenny" Helton; and grandchild Damien Baker-Bowens.

Family is requesting friends and family to honor Mary by their visit from 4 - 8 PM on Wednesday 22 January at Edwards Funeral Service, 318 Mt. Vernon Ave. Service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 8 PM with Pastor Pam presiding. Burial will be at Pleasant Cemetery on Thursday 23 January with line up for processional at Edwards Funeral Service at 9:30 AM.
