Maria Catherine Hunt

Maria Catherine Hunt, age 49, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly Monday, February 21, 2017 at her home. She was the beloved mother of Joey and Devin Hunt. Maria was born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 10, 1967 and grew up in Delaware, Ohio. She was the daughter of Patricia and Dale (step-father) Burns and Mike and Kathy (step-mother) Flick. Besides for her sons and parents, Maria leaves behind her brothers and sisters; Randy Burns, Tony Flick, Warren Flick, Nikki Held and Michael Flick. She will be missed dearly by the family listed as well as her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; Dorothy Ross and Warren and Ruth Flick. Maria homeschooled her boys until Joey was in 4th grade and Devin was in 3rd. During that time she not only taught her kids how to excel academically but also provided them with a great moral foundation. After the boys started school, Maria began nursing school at Marion Technical College and graduated as an R.N. in 2000. Maria loved visiting both sets of parents, whether that meant hitting the beach with the Burns at Holden Beach, North Carolina or camping out with the Flicks on the holidays in Cleveland, Ohio. Maria also loved to be with her friends and socialize. She was the owner of several pets that she loved more than herself. Maria was full of life and was always generous to everyone. She was always willing to help. Her soul was beautiful and pure and you could see that just from her walking into the same room as you.
