 Leroy H. Hartman, formerly of Salem, passed away unexpectedly in his home in Marion, Ohio on Sunday, February 23 rd , 2025, at the age of 84. Born February 19 th , 1941, in Valley, Ohio to the late Michael Moritz Hartman and Louise Henrietta Hartman (Paulun).

He was a lifelong resident of the Salem area, residing for 50 years on North Howard Ave. in Salem, while he worked for the Lincoln Machine Company on West 2 nd Street in Salem as a Machinist, and Raised his family,

Leroy was an avid outdoorsman who spent most of his life enjoying hunting, fishing, and trapping. When not outdoors he enjoyed playing his harmonica and tinkering. He was involved for many years with the Salem Bird Study Club, even serving as their President at one time. He was involved with Pack & Troop 2 in Salem with his sons. He was a member of the Leetonia Sportsman’s Club. And he was also a member for most of his life of the Damascus United Methodist Church in Damascus, Ohio, where he was a member of the board, a Sunday school teacher, and choir member.

Leroy is survived by his Wife of 54 years, Patricia Ann Hartman (Penkava) of Marion, Ohio, his sister Marianne Blythe (Hartman) of Lisbon, Ohio, and his two sons Daniel Leroy Hartman & Christofer Elliott Hartman both of Richwood, Ohio as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Leroy was preceded in death by his sister Louise Henrietta Ingledue (Hartman) of Lisbon, Ohio and 6 brothers Fredrick William Hartman of Salem, Walter Emil Hartman of Salem, Albert Otto Hartman of Hayes Center NE, Raymond Ernest Hartman of Columbiana, Ohio, Morris Michael Hartman of Sebring, Ohio, and John George Hartman of North Georgetown, Ohio.

Per the family’s request no services are being held.
