Kay Frances Slob

Kay Frances Slob, age 73 passed away June 23, 2018. Married Leonard F. Slob on February 11, 1962. Born June 4, 1945 in Hemphill, West Virginia to the late James Hyder and Ida Mae (Cassell) Jones. She leaves behind two daughters and three sons: Rachel Davis (Ulysses) of Auburn, NY; Diana Dodd of Marion, OH; Tim Slob (Kori Ratliff) of Napoleon, OH; Mike (Kecia) Slob of Marion, OH and Dana (Cheri) Slob of Greenville, OH; 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters and two brothers: Brenda Jones of Marion, OH; Nancy Maloney of Indiana; Kathy Kincaid of Florida; Pam Glock of Arizona; Charles Jones of  Marion, OH and David Jones of Arizona. Numerous nieces and nephews survive as well. Besides her parents and her husband, Kay was preceded in death by a sister Delia Butterman and two brothers, Douglas and Samuel Jones. Kay was retired as an assembler from the Whirlpool Corporation and last attended the former Celebration Christian Church. She and her husband ran the Slobs Strawberry Farm. She loved to sing harmony with her sisters and her children will always remember her singing "I love you, a bushel and a peck...". Several others called her "mom and grandma" and she always made sure she told everyone how much she loved them. Kay attended all of her children's events and activities, had an interest in politics, history, and studied the bible. She loved to cook and enjoyed spending time with her family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made out to the family to help with funeral expenses. Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 27, 2018 at Edwards Funeral Service 318 Mt. Vernon Ave., Marion, OH 43302 from 10am - 12:30pm, service to follow after with Keith Irey officiating. Burial will follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery. A lunch will be provided after the burial at Hope Family Church located at 171 E. Center Street Marion, OH 43302.
