Jerry Ray Pritt

Jerry Pritt passed away on January 24, 2020. Jerry was born January 8, 1946 to Herman and Audrey Pritt who both preceded him in death. Jerry was also preceded in death by his brother Dale Lee Pritt, John Allen, Keith Allen, and Frank Mattox. In April, 1969, Jerry married the absolute love of his life Mildred Allen and she is left to carry on their love. In addition to Millie, he is survived by his 2 children Cindi (Jeff) Kauble and Rick (Monique) Pritt who will forever feel his loss. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews that love him dearly.

Also surviving is Jerry’s sister Loretta Mattox who is the keeper of his childhood memories. Barbara Smith, Karen Watts, Tom Allen, and Steve Allen are the siblings he inherited when he took Mildred’s hand in marriage. Emily and Zoe Kauble are his granddaughters that were his pride and joy and he could not have loved them more.

Jerry loved Alabama football (Roll Tide) and Ohio State Football (Go Bucks) almost as much as Mildred. He also believed he was the singular legend to graduate from Buffalo High School in Buffalo West Virginia in 1965.

Jerry proudly served his country with the Air Force and volunteered for the ultimate test of love for his country by going to Vietnam to serve, and to sacrifice if needed. Jerry was a long-haul Trucker for 30 years and having traveled over 2 million miles was an accomplishment that brought him much pride. Mille, Cindi, and Rick lived for Friday nights to see him come home but always dreaded Sunday evenings and saying goodbye.

We will all say our final goodbyes on Wednesday, January 29, 2020. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM- 6:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Service and the Service will begin at 6:00 PM, 318 Mt. Vernon Ave., Marion, OH 43302.
