Jennifer Lynn Haas

Jennifer Lynn (Emery) Haas passed away on Thursday morning April 11, 2019 at Cleveland Clinic-Medina Hospital after a 10 year battle with cancer. She was born on October 3, 1970 in Marion, Ohio to Carolyn (Coulter) Emery and the late James Emery. Jennifer graduated from River Valley High School in 1989.  She enjoyed her family, friends, cooking, baking, fishing, boating and her many animals (chickens, cats, dogs) especially her comfort dog Izzy.  She was active in 4-H as a student and again as an adult helping her girls raising their chickens to show at the Marion County Fair. Often known as the "chicken lady" she also awarded a "Positive Exhibitor" trophy at the fair for poultry, rabbit, dog and goat projects. On September 6, 2003 she married Paul Haas who survives along with daughters Kristy Haas and Jackie Lortz.  She is also survived by her mother Carolyn Emery, brother Benjamin Emery, nephew James Emery II plus uncles, aunts and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father James Emery , an aunt and both sets of grandparents.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday April 28, 2019 at the American Legion, 308 South Main St., Prospect, OH 43342 from 2 P.M. to 6 P.M.  Hamburgers, hotdogs and drinks will be supplied.  One of Jennifer's favorite things was to try everyone's favorite recipes so we are doing a potluck.  Please bring your best dish or one you knew Jennifer enjoyed.
