James H. Stover Jr., “Jim,” 66, passed away on August 31st after a brief illness.
Jim was born on July 23, 1956, to the late James and Ellen Ruth (Billups) Stover, in Marion,
Ohio. Jim married his wife, Brenda in 1983 and they had three children; Jamie, James III, and
Cory. They also had four grandchildren who were Jim’s pride and joy; Douglas, Lillianne (Lilly),
Dean, and Riley. Jim was preceded in death by Brenda in 2020.
Jim attended Marion City Schools and was proud of his 30 years of work at Glen-Gery Brick.
He loved hunting, fishing, country music, and his family. Until his passing, Jim could be found
watching football, nascar, or wrestling on television, trying to flirt with the nursing staff at
Embassy where he resided, or joking around and trying to make someone laugh.
Jim is survived by daughter, Jamie (Doug) O’Dell; sons, James Stover and Cory Stover;
grandchildren, Douglas and Lilly Magill, Dean Stover, and Riley O’Dell; sisters, Donna (Merle)
Coon, Sheila (Galen) Rife, Linda (Tom) Massey, and Cathy (Andy) Berry; brother, Ronald
(Cathy) Stover; and his extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a
brother, Allen Stover. Private services and a burial at Grand Prairie Cemetery will be held at a
later date.
