James Earle Montis Sr.

James was born on August 1st, 1965 in Castaic, California and passed away December 5th, 2019 in Marion, Ohio.

James is survived by his two sons; James Montis Jr. and Adam (Ashley) Cox, parents; Earle and Elizabeth Montis, a brother; Glenn (Annette) Montis, a sister; Mary (Brian) Napper, a granddaughter; Dream Montis, Nephews; Thomas (Stephanie) Montis and Colton Riser, Nieces; Karrah Montis and Breanna Napper, one Great Niece; Emma Montis, Three Great Nephews; Grant Litteral, Owen Litteral and Silas Montis as well as many friends.

James graduated from Elgin High School in 1983 and earned his Bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University. James grew up near La Rue, Ohio, but has been a resident of Green Camp Ohio for many years now.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He especially loved spending time with his granddaughter Dream. He enjoyed going to concerts, shooting his guns, working on cars and working on computers.

James was well known for having a big heart and would help anyone. He will truly be missed by his family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday December 12th from 4-7PM, at Edwards funeral service 318 Mt. Vernon Ave., Marion, OH 43302, service to begin right after with Pastor Carr officiating.

After the funeral, a meal will be provided at the church across the street: Shining Light Baptist Church 294 Mt Vernon Ave., Marion, OH 43302. Please join us there to break bread and share fond memories of James.
