James Roland Hughes, age 77, of Marion, passed away peacefully early Wednesday afternoon at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on March 15, 1937 in Prospect, Ohio to the late Heskell and Faye (York) Hughes. James attended the Church of Christ in Christian Union of Marion and retired from Marion Steel after 34 years of service. He then delivered auto parts for NAPA and Advanced Auto Parts for several years. He was also a long-time member of the Eagles Aerie #337 and Marion Moose Lodge #889. James often delivered food and fruit baskets during the Christmas holidays and loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years; Della Irene (Parmer) Hughes. He then met and married Edrele Cox on November 23, 2002 and she survives at home. James was also preceded in death by a son; Howard Hughes and a sister; Clara Cress. Also surviving are 1 son; Jerry (Sherry) Hughes, 1 daughter; Wanda (Jeff) Williamson, 2 brothers; Ray (Mary) Hughes and Roy (Judy) Hughes, 4 sisters; Janet Blevins, Erma (Roger) Williams, Sharon (Larry) Brewer and Carol (Phil) Terzo, 8 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
