Henry Scaggs Jr.

Henry “Bud” Scaggs Jr. passed away February 23, 2022, at the age of 92, in his hometown of Prospect, OH. His battle with heart disease and serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Henry came out a hero and stayed strong till the end.

Henry married the love of his life Carolyn Sue (Whaley) Scaggs on June 11th, 1960, who preceded him in death on July 12th, 2019. Together they had 5 children: Reba Nancy (Eddie) McCormick, of Kenton, Henry (JoJo) Scaggs of Marion, Brenda (Mark) Jordan of Prospect, David Scaggs of Prospect, and youngest daughter Tina Scaggs also of Prospect.

Henry loved working on cars and fishing. He always had a joke and was always the life of any party. He always wanted to make you smile. He was a great father, friend, and a grandfather. He had 12 grandchildren: Mckenzie (Jason) Alcon, James McCormick, Brandy Phipps, Stephanie (John) Clark, Jessica Hines, Jeremy Jordan, Richard Jordan, Bethany Scaggs, Logan Potter, Cassady Krack, Heather (Kris) Wright, and Bridget Scaggs.

Henry also has 13 great grandchildren and two more on the way.

He was also survived by one sister, Juanita Bailey.

Henry will be loved and missed by his family, but he is free of pain and is living eternity with the love of his life.

Memorial Gathering will be held on Monday March 14, 2022 at Edwards Funeral Service from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, with a service to begin a 1:00 PM.
