Glenn Richard Downs of Marion, Ohio passed away on April 22, 2018 at the age of 79. Glenn was born on November 2, 1938 to Harley and Carmen Helen Stiverson Downs Thompson, who preceded him in death. Over the years he worked for several companies including Isaly's, Whirlpool, Kaiser Aluminum-Toledo, Sycon Corp., and Blackhawk. Glenn owned Tri-Way Farm in Pleasant Township, where he raised his beloved quarter horses and draft horses along with other livestock. He was a great cook and loved cooking for family and friends. Everyone loved his pork tenderloin. Glenn will be remembered for never knowing a stranger and always willing to lend a hand. He loved his family and spending time with them. Glenn is survived by siblings Harley Downs of Hobe Sound, Fla.; John (Vicki) Thompson of Charleston, S.C.; Annette (David) Brammell of Marion; Mary Lou Graff of Mt. Gilead; and Alice Vallance of Marion. He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Miller. Surviving nieces and nephews include Debbie (Steve) Swartz, John (Cynthia) Thompson, Jason (Theresa) Thompson, Joshua (Alice) Thompson, Christy (Craig) Chaney, Candy (Corey) Gamble, Kyle (Shelby) Brammell, Lamara (Eugene) Ambler, and Lizabeth (Fiancé Dalton White) Graff. Glenn's grandnieces and grandnephews include Katie, Steve, Chase, Hunter, Dakota, Remington, J.P., Elizabeth, Tristen, Matt, Cory, Ben, Victoria, Jasmine, Wyatt, Christian, Cody, Claudia, Cassidy, Brooke, Jake, Luke, Addison, and Ellie. At Glenn's request no services will be held. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, May 12 from 1-5 p.m. at the Fogle Sale Pavilion, 2730 Harding Highway West (State Route 309), Big Island.
