Georgia Mae Sims age 100 of Marion passed away peacefully at home on December 29, 2020. Georgia Mae was born on April 14, 1920 to the late Chaney (Thomas) and John Favors in Wilkes County, Rayle Georgia. On July 30, 1939 she married the late William Sims Sr. She was a faithful member of The Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. William Sims Sr., her son William Sims Jr., her brother and sisters, stepsisters and her stepmother Lucille Favors. Those who will cherish her memory are her children; Nannie Mae Sims of Columbus, Lois (Buddy) Starks of Marysville, Barbara Jean (Horace) Worthington of New Jersey, Harriet Sims of Marion, Carol Sims of New York, and Christopher (Chris) of Marion. She also leaves a brother Ray Hansen, son Bill (Karen) Sims Jr., her brother-in-law Johnny Marshall Bankston, and her dear best friend and cousin Dorothy Taylor. She has 16 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her great great grandchildren Stephen Bonner and Jasmine Barnes. We all loved her, but God loved her best and she will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held on Saturday January 09, 2021 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church 475 E Fairground St, Marion, OH 43302 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM, service to start at 11:00 AM, service will be on facebook live www.facebook.com/edwardsfuneralservice. Burial to follow at York Center Cemetery. MASKS WILL BE REQUIRED.
