Genova "Jo" Louise Mullins

Genova (Jo) Louise Mullins of Marion, Ohio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 29th at the age of 67 years old. She was born in Marion on October 17th, 1956, to Clifford Edward Harris and Emma Louise Harris, and was a graduate of Harding High School.

Jo was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was one of those rare individuals who never knew a stranger, and who made lifelong friends with the many people she encountered throughout her career. Jo married Larry Mullins on November 21, 1975. Early on, she worked at Stewart’s Root Beer Stand, as a vendor for Perin Vending for many years, and then proudly opened Genova’s Pizza in 2007, with her family in Fairpark.

Jo was also a devoted pet parent to her two beloved dogs, Zoe and Emme. Their wagging tails and unconditional love brought her immense joy. She enjoyed rides with the dogs to Kildeer where they would spot bald eagles and deer, feeding the many animals that visited their property, and spending time with her sons and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jo is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Emma Harris, and her sister Linda Elswick.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Mullins; her children, Damien and Derek (Andrea) Mullins; her grandchildren, Savannah, Demari, Lyrik and Cash; her sister Debbie Lust-Bowmer; her three great grandchildren Elianna, Amayah and Elija, and many other loving family members and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. We love you, Jo.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Marion Area Humane Society.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 5th from 10am - Noon at Edward’s Funeral Home, followed by a wake and celebration of life at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Marion, beginning at 2pm.
