Ernie Calvin McGlothlin

Ernie C. McGlothlin, age 85, of Marion passed away June 28, 2015 at Marion General Hospital. He was born in Wilksville, Ohio on November 9, 1929 to Lewis and Lledo (Russell) McGlothlin. As a young man, he attended Fairplay School in Vinton County and Morral School. On September 21, 1952 he married the love of his life, the former Alice Williams in the Morral Methodist Church and she survives at home. Ernie had worked at the Morral Canning Company as well as many farmers in and around Morral. He had also worked for the C & O Railroad for 5 years and finally he retired from Armco Steel after working there for 28 years as a blacksmith. He had also been a trustee for the original Marion Landlord Association. Along with his parents; he was preceded in death by a brother; Billy, a sister; Dolly Cardenas and a grandson; Aaron Douglas McGlothlin. Surviving along with his wife Alice are 3 sons; Richard (Darlene) McGlothlin of Waldo, Dennis (Tina) McGlothlin of McCutchenville, and Doug McGlothlin of Marion, 2 daughters; Cathy (Rob) Healy of Hilliard and Patty (Clay) Menton of Columbus, 2 brothers; Cleon & Leo McGlothlin and a sister; Darlene Goad, all of Marion, a sister-in-law; Harriett McGlothlin of Woodward, California, 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
