Ernest Lewis Braden was born on March 29, 1946 to the late Edward A and Harriet Calbert Braden in Lynnville, Tennessee. He was one of seven children. He departed this life on July 26, 2018. After the death of his mother, he was nurtured by his Grandmother, Nettie Louise Cox Braden. He was affectionately known by many names: Dad, Daddy, Ernest, Ernest Lewis, Brother, Butter, Grandpa, Rock by his Railroad Crew and Skull from his High School Football Days.
He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Round Hill Missionary Baptist Church Lynnville, Tennessee.
He married Ann Boyd and to this union, one son and one daughter were born.
He received his education from Round Hill and Waco Schools in Lynnville, TN. And Bridgeforth High School in Pulaski, TN.
He later was united in Holy Matrimony with Margaret Denise Starks until his death and to this union one daughter was born.
Ernest was a hard worker. It was in his blood and it all began on the farm in Tennessee. He always had a passion to drive an eighteen wheeler and that is exactly what he did after retiring from CXX Railroad after many years. When Ernest ‘s health began to fail, he would still drive dump trucks, delivering corn and this was in between hospital stays.
In addition to working he enjoyed driving down to the car lot and talking with all the guys. His true passion was to keep Nahdya (Girlie) and Micah (Booter) before and after school each day. He would drive them to McDonalds and to the park to watch them play.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Harriet Braden; Grandparents Jordan and Nettie Louise Cox Braden; Siblings Edward Martin, Edward Jordan and Gene Noble Braden.
He Leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife, Margaret Denise Starks Braden, who was by his side until he transitioned to his new address; his children Alfie(Angela) Johnson of Shelbyville, TN, Richard Ernell(Tracy)Crutcher, Sharon Ann Boyd and Ernest L. Braden Jr. all of Nashville TN.,Harriett Braden of Louisville, KY, Carlos Starks & Katrina Braden of Marion, Ohio; Mother Eula M. Braden Sowell of Louisville, KY, who assisted in his nurturing and providing for him; Siblings Bobby W (Anna) Braden of Virginia Beach, VA, Mary Elaine Bodenhamer of Nashville, TN and Patricia(Danny) Braden Williams of Louisville, KY. Eighteen(18) Grandchildren, Four(4) Great-Grandchildren, Special Niece Erica Johnson and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Special Cousins, other Relatives and Friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday August 03, 2018 from 11:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. Service will follow with Elder Michael Wade officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Heights Cemetery.
