Edward Earl Dowdy

Edward Earl Dowdy, age 85, passed away on Saturday December 05, 2020 at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on September 05, 1935 in Marion, OH to the late Lawrence Dowdy and Della (Marshall) Pelphrey. Edward proudly served in the Army. He had also retired from Marion City. He is survived by his children; Michael (Juanita) Dowdy, Opal Bautista, Pam (Vernon) Conners, Carolyn (Ken) Mackie, Mary Lou (John) Malone, grandchildren; Kevin Rostorfer Jr., Corina Shoemaker, Shawn Mackie, John Bob Malone, Robert Malone, Kaitlyn Ferguson, Robyn Bradley, Stephanie Montis, Megan Dowdy, Michaela Willis, Michael Shoemaker, Marisah Meyers, Kiersten Morrison, Jerry, Stephen, Miguel, Alaya, and Gianna, great grandchildren; Emma, Silas, Ella, Olivia, Brady, Abbie, Buddy, Mackenzie, Heather, Shiloh, Nevaeh, Kingsley, Elizabeth, Faith, Taylor, Cory, Hannah, Kaiser, Takota, Gavin, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife Mary Dowdy, parents Lawrence Dowdy and Della (Marshall) Pelphrey, son Edward Dowdy Jr., siblings Cora Honaker, Dorothy Kline and Lawson Johnson and great granddaughter Graceland. Family would like to give a special thanks to Kindred Hospice for all the care that they provided.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday December 09, 2020 at Edwards Funeral Service 318 Mt. Vernon Ave., Marion, OH 43302 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, service to follow with Gary Lyons officiating. Burial will follow at Agosta Cemetery. Masks will be required.
