Edward Paul Brandt, age 60, of Marion, after battling a long illness passed away on Friday evening, September 22nd surrounded by his family. He was the third child born to Barbara (Axtell) Brandt; deceased and John Dee Brandt; deceased, on April 1st, 1957 in Royal Oak, Michigan. He attended Pleasant High School, graduating in 1975. He was a three-year letterman on the school’s football team and a member of the 1972 state championship team. He had a love of all things related to sports including being an avid collector of such. Among his varied interests were animals, music, old TV shows and magazines and shopping, especially flea markets. All of his siblings were with him on his last day on earth as he passed over. So now he is free to talk, run and just be. We will be planning a service in Marion on Friday, October 20th and another the next day in Michigan where he will be placed to rest with his mother and father. More details on each of those events later. He is survived by five siblings; David (Becky) of Newton Falls, Kevin (Cindy) of Cincinnati, Jennifer (Wade) Kincaid of Ocala, Florida, Perry of Cincinnati and Richard (Kathleen) of Marion, three stepchildren; Shaun Estes of Sacramento, California, Melissa Fryman of Cincinnati and Kenneth Wilson of Cincinnati and his former wife; Deborah Estes Brandt. He will be missed. In Lieu of flowers, the family asks any donations made in Ed’s honor go to either The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (AFTD) at www.theaftd.org or Hospice of Wyandot County at www.hospiceofwyandotcounty.org
