Earle P. Montis

Earle was born December 18, 1941, and went to be with the Lord Jesus on September 30, 2024, in Marion, Ohio.

He was married to his wife of 60 years Elizabeth Montis on May 10, 1964

Earle is preceded in death by both parents Mary Montis Jones and Aaron Carter, his adopted father Glenn Montis and his Son James Montis.

Earle is survived by his sister Sharon (Lloyd) Anderson, brothers Samuel Mark Carter and Phillip (Charlotte) Carter, son Glenn (Annette) Montis, daughter Mary (Brian) Napper, grandchildren Thomas (Stephanie) Montis, Karrah (Chris) Steinhour, Jimmy Montis, Adam Cox, Colton Riser and Breanna Napper, Great Grandchildren Emma Montis, Silas Montis, Dream Montis, Grant Litteral and Owen Litteral.

Earle was born and raised in Mansfield, Ohio. He was married in 1960 and settled with his wife Elizabeth Montis some years later in the LaRue, Ohio area and lived there until a recent move to Marion, Ohio.

Earle was a dedicated bread winner, husband and father of three. Earle worked for Marion Power Shovel for 28 years from 1969 until they shut down in 1997.

Earle loved tinkering with his Model A Ford and his old tractors in the garage. He also enjoyed fishing, camping and motorcycle riding in his younger years.

In recent years Earle moved from the garage to the computer as his main hobby and kept in contact with family and friends that way.

He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and always had a smile and a piece of candy waiting for them when they came to visit.

Visitation will be held on Saturday October 5, 2024, from 3-4pm at Shining Light Baptist Church 294 Mt. Vernon Ave., Marion, Ohio 43302, service to begin right after at 4pm with Pastor Gary Carr officiating.

After the funeral, a meal will be provided at the church. Please join us there to break bread and share fond memories of Earle.
