Douglas John Cratty

DOUGLAS JOHN CRATTY, MARION, OHIO, passed away on May 5, 2023, at Marion General Hospital. He was born on January 20, 1964, in Mt. Gilead, OH to Melvin and Viola Cratty. Doug attended Pleasant local schools.

Doug was known for his work installing carpet whenever he was able to, and he worked for many different employers in that capacity.

Doug loved his friends and family and he dreamed of the day he could leave the nursing home and return to the real world and get his license back. He loved to drive and that was one of the hardest things for him; being stranded in the nursing home and not being able to drive. He was studying to get his driver’s license back before he passed.

Doug is preceded in death by both his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Tiffany Edler and her 3 children, Kayson Edler-Seclock, Holden Edler, and Atlee Edler. He is also survived by 3 sisters, Deanna (Terry) Howard of Marion, OH; Peggy (Mike) Irwin of Ft. Meyers, Florida; and Shary Morrison of Tennessee.

A celebration of life will be held at a later day.
