Dottie Joanne Adkins Crossland, aged 68, of Marion, Ohio passed away at her residence after a brief battle with cancer. Family, Friends, and Hospice were at her side. Dottie was born January 30, 1953 in Washington Court House, Ohio to Otis Ray and Ida Pearl (Buskirk) Adkins. She graduated Pleasant High School class of 1971.
Dottie worked at FCA for 20.5 Years then moved to Verizon for 18 years, Then Dottie retired from Frontier. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her "adopted grandchildren", Lilyana May and Elijah Matheu Jenkins. Dottie loved spending her free time with the "Grand kids" and May Jenkins, her best friend and Willie May Jenkins. Dottie also loved to shop and bargain hunt.
Dottie is survived by her husband of 40 years, John Crossland, her daughter Cindy Jo Crossland and her fiancé Roy Rawlins, her brother, Jeff P. Adkins of New Bloomington, Ohio and a half-sister, Nancy Gail Shaw of Xenia, Ohio, step-daughter Michelle (Lewis) Crossland Reed, granddaughters, Marie (Robbie) Fouts and Nikki Parsons and great grandson, Oliver and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Dottie is preceded in death by her parents, Otis Ray Adkins, Ida Pearl Jenkins and stepfather Willie Jenkins, her brothers; Johnny Ray, Scott, Roger "Dink", Robert "Doughball", Charley Adkins.
A Celebration of Life Party will be held on Saturday October 30, 2021 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Marion at 1232 E. Center St. Marion, Ohio 43302 from 12 PM till 4 PM. Refreshments will be served.
