David Ashley Sisson
May 29, 1982 - Nov 21, 2021
David Ashley was a wonderful man that was loved, is missed and will always be cherished. David loved his children very much. Kylie Ann 11 and Octavius William 10 were his pride and joy...he could never spend enough time with them, filling their little heads with as much philosophy and knowledge as possible.
David was very intelligent with a genius I.Q and loved to ponder, discuss and debate "the meaning of life"...always leaving the participants in wonder and sometimes pondering their own beliefs.
David had a lifelong love affair with coffee, gaming, Magic cards, Marvel comic books and movies. David's greatest passion was his drawings and artwork which was his therapeutic outlet and emotional release and was a testament to his life. As David's mom, I would like to claim responsibility for his artistic skills, although I am the first to admit that his talent well exceeded my own.
An equal passion was computer programming, building and gaming which is attributed to his dad, David A Sisson. In recent months David and his dad became very close as father and son and also as friends. They would spend their days together playing online computer games in his dads computer room, not far from each other’s side. They would hang out in his dads garage on the warm summer nights playing his dads pinball machines, slot machines and dancing to the music as they goofed around and lifted each others spirit higher and higher! His step mom Karen was also a huge part of his recent “happyness,” while staying with his dad she accepted him with open arms and enjoyed watching the closeness that David and his dad had achieved! Our family will be forever grateful for the time they all shared together and the summer of 21 will be a memory his dad will forever cherish!
David also had a couple new passions. He had bought a bass guitar and was doing quite well learning to play. He loved music and enjoyed rock and roll oldies performed by new artists. He also had taken up astrophysics which was really no surprise considering his train of thought. He was very curious about the universe and the space/time continuum...alternate realities, worm holes and black holes.
David's grandma, Judy Lobb, was owner and CEO of "Grams personal and automotive loan corporation" of which David became a frequent and recurring customer along with her lesser known "consulting" business. David loved his grams.
I, Amanda L Sisson "Mandy" have wonderful memories playing with my brother when we were kids. We always had army men and matchbox cars spread all over the floors of the house. I was always amazed by the sound effects that David made while playing with any toys. His imagination always exceeded any that I have ever known. David loved to play "Mortal Kombat... no matter how I practiced, I could never "finish him." As an adult, David acquired the nickname "Frodo." For a long time, the gaming world was so precious to him, that was until he was introduced to a new "precious"... his daughter, Kylie Ann...watching him bounce her on his knee brought joy to my heart and tears to my eyes. Showing Octavius how to put together his toys and showing him how they worked was priceless. David was battling painful illnesses for a very long time and although, at times, his mobility was limited, he was a very good daddy. He loved everyone deeply, no matter the circumstance, he was there. David had the purest and most forgiving heart that I'll ever be blessed to know. He will be greatly missed and I await the day that I hear "Yello!" once again.
I, Jacob R Sisson, as the “spoiled” and “bothersome” younger brother, looked up to David when we were kids.… I wanted to be just like him but no matter how cool I tried to appear to David, he always brought out the “nerd” in me. After mom and dad were asleep, David had a habit of sneaking moms car keys and going joy riding, on a few of those occasions, I black mailed him so I could ride along…that made me cool like my big brother (Do Not Try This At Home). David also taught me about self esteem….to not care what others thought of you, to love yourself and nothing else matters. I now teach my children as David taught me. I miss my big brother every minute of every day but the memories remain.
A life long family friend, Bridgett Lynn Davis, was able to spend the last few months with David. He opened his heart and home to her in her time of need. Not only did David help her in her time of need, but she lifted his spirit in the process, bringing joy and “happyness” to his world. When she would arrive home after work she would greet David with, “honey, I’m home!” David never liked being alone, so the impact of this alone “leveled up” David’s state of serenity. She has been a faithful and dependable friend to our family and we are forever grateful for the time she spent with him, as we are sure, David was grateful too!
