Clyde Cole, a longtime business man and resident of Marion Ohio, died Thursday, September 1, 2022. Clyde was born In Cisne, Illinois on May 17,1927 to William Cole, a farmer and Audie J. Greathouse, a housewife.
Clyde was raised on a farm near Cisne and worked in the oil industry for a short time. At the age of 18, he enlisted and proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, where he was stationed in Guam. After the war, he returned to Illinois where he met the love of his life, Beverly McGee. They married on January 20, 1950 and were married for 72 loving years until her passing June 3, 2022. Clyde is survived by his only son Steven B. Cole of Carrollton, Texas
Clyde, Beverly, and Steven moved from Illinois to Marion Ohio in 1964 for the new oil boom in Morrow County.
Clyde later found interest in the mobile home industry. In 1969, Clyde started Pleasant Acre Mobile Park and Sales which he built, managed and owned for over 30 years. Retiring in January 2000, Clyde traveled with his wife and friends to many parts of the country.
His greatest enjoyment was fishing on Lake Erie and deep sea fishing in Florida. He built many friendships over the years. He loved the Lord and found great peace in attending Marion Central Christian Church pastored by Merlyn Winters.
