Carol Jones

Carol Riemenschneider Jones of Worthington, Ohio passed away peacefully at Presidential Nursing Center in Marion, Ohio on April 21st, 2020. She is survived by her daughter Amy (Keith) Bradley, who is publishing this obituary in a final act of daughterly defiance, beloved granddaughters Shea and Trinity Bradley, a niece Jill (Chet) Stefankiewicz and nephew David (Christy) Riemenschneider. She is preceded in death by her parents Orville and Elsie Riemenschneider and brother and sister-in-law Kenneth and Janet Riemenschneider.

Carol was born in Pittsburgh on February 22nd, 1937 and later moved to Bakerstown while she attended Mars High School and nursing school at ShadySide Hospital until marriage moved her to California, Massachusetts, and finally Ohio.

Carol enjoyed travel and adventure and visited most of North America and a multitude of other international destinations. Motherhood took her on a completely new adventure that included volunteering in classrooms and libraries and putting up with a lot of teenage angst. Doing it all as a single mother made her strength and perseverance all the more admirable.

Carol loved a good laugh and made many friends at Columbus’s Ascension Lutheran Church’s vocal and bell choirs. She also made many friends at Friendship Village of Dublin where she worked as an assisted living aide for over a decade. Her laughter will be missed tremendously.

Carol spent her last 25 years as an adoring grandmother and it was her best adventure ever. She created loving memories to last a lifetime, and that’s really all anyone could ever ask for.

In lieu of flowers, Carol would have preferred that you spend the money on a memory. Buy a pretty paperweight and remember her when you use it. Plant a garden for yourself and think of her while you’re picking the flowers. Do something that puts love in your heart and good in the world and remember her while you’re doing it.
