Bonnilynn McQuistion, formerly Bonnilynn Cook, age 88, passed away on February 15, 2025, at Kingston of Marion, Ohio.
Bonnilynn, also known as Bon, was born on October 1, 1936, in Marion, Ohio to Mary Louise and John Cook.
Bon married her late husband Richard McQuistion on August 17, 1957, in Liberty, Indiana, and the two were married for 64 years until Richard passed away in 2021.
Bon is survived by her son Ray V. McQuistion, stepbrother Joe Young, grandchildren Derek Ray, Rusty Tyler, Roger J, and Nicholas, along with many great-grandchildren. Bon is also survived by her loving dog Molly, who will miss Bon very much.
Bon was preceded in death by her husband Richard A. McQuistion and her sons Mark Allen McQuistion, James Lee McQuistion, and Dale Lynn McQuistion, along with her sister Marilynn Louise Patten.
Bon enjoyed volunteering at Heartland nursing home while her son Mark lived there. She also enjoyed getting her nails done, along with her hair, going out with friends, attending church on Sundays, and having breakfast with her former JC Penny’s coworkers at Perkins. Her two favorite songs were “On the Wings of a Dove” and “The Old Rugged Cross”.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Edwards Funeral Service, 318 Mt. Vernon Avenue Marion, Ohio 43302, officiated by Gary Lyons. Burial will follow the visitation hours at Green Camp Cemetery, where she will be put to rest by her husband and sons.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kingston Activities Department and Tranquility Hospice Care in Marion, Ohio in memory of Bon.
For anyone interested, there will be a meal in memory of Bon held after the burial at Edwards Funeral Service. All are welcome.
