Barbara Brandt

Barbara Elaine Brandt, age 84, of Marion passed away peacefully in her sleep early Tuesday morning surrounded by her family at Marion General Hospital. She was born in Flint, Michigan on October 17, 1932 to Gordon Daniel Axtell and Hazel E. (Merryman) Axtell. She married John Brandt on August 9, 1952 and he preceded her in death in 2004. Barbara was employed at Nachur’s Plant Food as a lab tech and after her retirement, enjoyed a lifetime of pet ownership and garage saling. Left to cherish her memory are her six children; David (Becky) Brandt, Kevin (Cindy) Brandt, Perry Brandt, Richard (Kathleen) Brandt, Edward Brandt and Jennifer (Wade) Kincaid, her brother; Richard Axtell, 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Her family will celebrate her “last bonfire” on Thursday, November 10, 2016 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Those who knew her may contact a family member for the location.
