Annie Catherine Niles Rollison, age 81, of Marion passed away peacefully at the home and farm the she and her husband loved. She was born February 25, 1935 to Theresa Willimette Payne Niles and Theodore Frederick Niles and was the last of their 7 children. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, her three brothers; Winfred Bishop Niles, Kenneth Wesley Niles and Walter Eugene Niles and her three sisters; Florence Willamette Niles-Hopkins-Berringer-Cory, Carolyn Elizabeth Niles Hopkins Saxton Cooper and Imogene Niles and her beloved sister in-law; Jane Niles. She married Robert A. Rollison on October 14, 1956 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Marion by Rev. Frederick W. Leach and Bob preceded her in death on November 11, 1991. In the early 70’s they pursued their dream of a country place. Ann and Bob worked all their lives to pay for their dream place. They put out large gardens, put up the produce and raised livestock to feed their family and friends and always had horses or mules. Ann worked to get her first horse and saddle and she worked thereafter to provide for her family and to keep her horses. She worked all her life until the arthritis became too bad. She helped her father on their farm. Her first job away from home was at Homer’s Market, then she worked at Islays in downtown Marion. She cleaned offices and homes too. She worked full time for many years doing large sized architectural and engineering blue prints for companies all over the state of Ohio and custom matting and framing for Fred Ellery and Son. Later when it was sold to R&G Blueprinting and moved to Harding Hwy., she worked there too. During this time she also worked nights at Lawson’s on Center St. and Lawson’s Convenience Store on Main Street. Her final job was working at the Reel Entertainment video store. She was a generous, kind, honest and caring person, a true friend. She shared her belief by doing for others. Not expecting reimbursement, she often payed bills for people she knew needed help. She and Bob showed concern for others. They took in many people over the years to live with them for various reasons, giving them shelter and a place to stay. They knew that as God has shown, when we turn from self-concern to concern for others is when we fully live the joy-filled life He promised us. She had a beautiful singing voice and loved a variety of music genres. She also loved to read. She and her friends would trade books back and forth and she often noted inside the cover how she rated the book. She knitted and crocheted many lovely things winning a few awards at the fair. She enjoyed being creative and tried different things like basket making and sculpting. For years, she spent a lot of her time helping her daughter Cathy with her craft business. She loved to spend time with her friends and taking little jaunts with them. She was a 4-H advisor in the early 70’s. She was an American Legion Auxiliary member, a member of the Circle M Horsemen and a supporter of the Disabled American Veterans. Because she loved being at home, she did not want to travel. Riding and training horses and her mule, her flowers and trees, and caring for her many pets over the years has kept her busy. She had a true protector in her dachshund; Founder, Blue Heeler; Oliver and her shepherd; Sierra. They followed her everywhere she went. And Bob, her cat, would check on her every day and quietly keep her company. She enjoyed watching her grandkids grow, taking them to and from school and events, playing cards and playing games with them. She was very proud of their accomplishments. She is survived by two daughters; Catherine A. Krist (Mark), Theresa L. Rollison, one son; Phillip V. Rollison (Cindy), three grandchildren; Callie Janel Rollison-Lookabaugh (Ben), Clay Robert Rollison (Kierston) and Collin James Rollison, two great-grandchildren; Averie Lookabaugh and Brantley Rollison, sisters in-law; Marianne Niles, Marilyn Bonsel and Betty Rollison (Marion) and a brother-in-law; Leonard Rollison, her dearest friends; Sarah Henry, Farell Haubert and Shay Carbaugh and many wonderful nieces and nephews all across the country. Mom had a special love for Connie Brammer, our family historian from Indiana who never failed to write or visit when she was here and with whom mom shared old family photos and history. And to Scott Pickens who would do anything for his Aunt Annie, to Norma Chase, a dear niece that spent much time with her, to Thomas Iverson and Gene Strine that helped with all the handicap additions to make life easier for mom and to Larry Hanes, a good neighbor to have in a pinch, to Mindy Ishida-Forster and to sweet Doreen Witt who helped us in so many ways…… Thank-You All! A special Thank-You to Heartland Hospice and all the wonderful people there that treated mom like she was their own, to Joyces Angels for helping mom with everything and being her good friends and to the great people at Interim with whom mom has a special bond……She loves you all “a nickles worth”!
