Anna Louise Akers, age 77, passed away on Sunday October 18, 2020 at Marion General Hospital with her loving family surrounding her. She was born on October 22, 1942 in North Matewan, West Virginia to Lonnie Hamby and Marie (Meade) Hamby. She graduated from Magnolia High School class of 1960.
Anna married David Akers December 27, 1960 and was married for 34 years until his death on April 11, 1995. She retired from Kable Fulfillment in December 2004 after 41 years of employment.
She is survived by two sons; David (Vivian) Akers Jr., and Shawn Akers both of Marion, OH; two grandsons Jacob Akers and Kory Akers both of Marion, OH; one granddaughter Karci Akers of Marion, OH; three brothers Greg (Sue) Hamby, Larry Hamby both of Matewan, WV and Jimmy (Connie) Hamby of Sherrills Ford, NC; sisters in law Mary Ellen Hamby of Marion, OH, Cynthia (Boots) Bullion; brother in law Don (Janet) Akers; and several nieces, nephews and close friends.
She was preceded in death by two sisters; Kimberly Kay Hamby and Lois Justice; two brothers Lonnie Hamby and Bill Hamby.
Visitation will be held on Monday October 26, 2020 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM, service to start at 1:00 PM. She will be laid to rest following the service at Grand Prairie Cemetery.
Please feel free to dress casual.
Masks will be required if medically possible.
