John Stephen (Steve) Endicott, 64, Marion Ohio, earned his eternal reward on March 10, 2023, at the Cleveland Clinic after a prolonged fight with heart failure. He was born February 22, 1959, in Marion Ohio. He is survived by his dad, Richard (Pat) Bond; his sister Catherine (Mark) Eblin; his two loving daughters Kristen (Matthew) Heindel; and Taylor Endicott; his grandchildren Cole Denman and Matalie Heindel; as well as numerous biological and adopted nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Connie Bond.
A 1977 graduate of Pleasant High School, Steve held many different job titles most notably at Worthington Industries. After retirement Steve enjoyed working for Speedway in the Café. Steve was loyal to his alma mater Pleasant until his illness in 2022, supporting both high school athletics and volunteering with the high school band. Steve was an avid sports fan since birth always cheering on his beloved Brownies and Guardians. He also never missed an Ohio State football game, even while in the hospital.
Steve never knew a stranger and would befriend just about anyone. To be in the same space as Steve was to know his entire attention was on you and nothing else mattered to him in that moment. He took his relationship roles in life very seriously and strived to be the best he could in each one. All who knew him stated he was the BEST. The best son, the best brother, the best dad, the best grandpa, the best uncle, and the best friend. He was always quick with a joke and mischievous grin to lighten the mood. He loved as Jesus would and he would freely lend his light to anyone he knew on their darkest days. He loved being with friends and family at holidays and would always be the first to offer to help with food prep so long as you were the one hosting. He was also a favorite among the many family pets and is the reason they all love and demand people food. He will be deeply missed by the many people that called him family and friend.
Steve’s Celebration of Life will be at 12 noon on Thursday March 16th, 2023, at Edwards Funeral Service with Reverend Tom Beckel officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Heights Memorial Gardens. The family will hold calling hours Thursday from 10am-12 noon at the funeral home. As Steve was almost always seen sporting his team’s logos, family requests that guests dress casual in their favorite sports attire. Memorial Contributions can be made out to Edwards Funeral Services to assist with final arrangements.
